Job summary

Clayton Early Learning is seeking an on-call substitute teacher to support infant/toddler or preschool classrooms in Denver. The role involves relieving teachers during breaks, assisting with classroom duties and student engagement, and maintaining safe ratios as needed.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, a valid PDIS level 2 certification or ECE 101/103, and experience with preschool-aged children. Background checks, CPR/First Aid, and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• PDIS level 2 certification or ECE 101 and ECE 103 completed.
• Experience with preschool-aged children in classroom, childcare, or early childhood setting.
• Must pass comprehensive background check (CBI/FBI fingerprinting, state registry, MVR, national sex offender registry).
• Must have valid driver’s license with active auto insurance.
• Pediatric first aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Substitute in infant/toddler or preschool classrooms as needed, relieving teachers for breaks and absences.
• Support classroom teachers in duties and student engagement.
• Supervise 8–16 students and maintain classroom ratios.
• Follow Conscious Discipline teaching model.
• Communicate issues to Program Coordinator/Mentor Coaches.
