Job summary

NUWAY Alliance in Minneapolis is seeking a Chemical Dependency Technician (NUWAY III) to join our nonprofit behavioral health team. The role supports clients from admission through discharge, helps supervise client behavior, and assists on-duty counselors in achieving program goals in a respectful, confidential manner.

The ideal candidate has experience in mental health or substance use treatment, is able to work both weekdays and weekends, and holds current First Aid/CPR certification with

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification and Medication Administration certificate (Residential only) within 30 days.
• Able to pass Minnesota DHS background study.
• Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficient in English communication and ability to document in writing.
• Physical demands: Sitting for extended periods, lifting up to 25 pounds, and mobility within facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients from admission through discharge.
• Supervise and manage client behavior and crisis situations.
• Support on-duty counselors to achieve program goals.
• Respond to medical emergencies professionally and calmly.
• Maintain client confidentiality per HIPAA and state/federal guidelines.
