Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care from admission to discharge under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, in a Rhode Island Hospital setting. You will collaborate with the care team, provide personal care, and document observations in the EHR.

Minimum qualifications include a Rhode Island CNA license and BLS certification; one year of experience is preferred. The role works night shifts and requires standing and walking in a hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Current Rhode Island license as a Nursing Assistant.
• High school graduate or its equivalent preferred.
• Certified in American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
• Knowledge to provide care to patients across the lifespan.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Registered Nurse to organize work and set priorities.
• Perform personal care and basic nursing assistant skills as outlined by state guidelines.
• Assist with rehabilitation activities and activities of daily living.
• Maintain a safe environment and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues.
• Accurately document data in the EHR and care records; communicate observations to the RN.
• May function as a patient observer.
• Perform other related duties as required.
