About this role

Responsible for providing instruction within the Practical Nursing program. A CCP Instructor will spend approximately 80% of the time teaching and 20% of the time handling classroom administration. Performs outreach activities, addresses student issues and advises students. Works with Coordinator and Manager on classroom related issues to include inventory, equipment, purchase orders and daily operational tasks. The percentage of time spent teaching and handling classroom administration tasks may shift slightly depending on class scheduling during the term. Assigned locations may change with the needs of the program.

What a day of a CCP Instructor, Practical Nursing looks like:

Teaches courses in accordance with published course descriptions, schedules, procedures, and course outlines furnished to students. Assesses students’ proficiency and conducts on-going evaluation and prepares grade reports of student progress and maintain records of student course performance. Designs and prepares curriculum of course related materials. Prepares and delivers online training content in support of classroom instruction. Works with other faculty and staff on quality assurance activities. Schedules and maintains at minimum the number of student contact hours as prescribed in DBOT rule. Develops student clinical and technical skills to meet the needs of Business Partnership Council. Develops testing instruments, conducts on-going evaluation, assesses students’ proficiency, prepares grade reports of student progress, and maintains records of student course performance. Assists students in proper procedures and practices. Follows established safety practices. Maximizes learning and retention through the use of skill building resources and maintains program standards. Develops and coordinates program and course schedules, faculty assignments, test dates, etc. maintains calendar as necessary to track these schedules. Makes adjustments as required. Participates in various meetings and committees. Travels to meetings, between College locations, and for other purposes. Assists with the development, evaluation, and purchase of lab and program materials and resources. Selects textbooks and materials. Coordinates resources with textbook and course syllabus to ensure a successful program. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Registered Nurse with Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or health related field with current State of Florida licensure as Registered Nurse; or Registered Nurse with current State of Florida licensure and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline Knowledge of: Microsoft Office Professional or similar application Skilled in: Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication Ability to: Demonstrate the use of technology in the classroom; must be able to use the technology required for the assigned course Work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, and on multiple campuses if needed Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements: Active Florida Registered Nursing license Regular physical attendance required Must demonstrate cultural competency to engage and work with a diverse student and employee population

The minimum base pay for this position starts at $52,500.00 annually; however, the offer may vary based on the candidate’s education and experience.
