Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College in Greenfield, IN is seeking Amplify Adjunct Faculty to deliver MEAS 225 and assist students in reaching their goals through effective instruction and assessment.

This on‑campus, as‑needed role requires engaging with students, developing course materials, and maintaining records while adhering to FERPA and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Earned associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Minimum 2 years of direct work experience as a medical assistant or as an RN or LPN in ambulatory care.
• Current professional certification in CMA, CCMA, or RMA and appropriate academic preparation for the course.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned classes in accordance with college policy and course objectives.
• Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Develop/maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
• Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
• Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact learning.
• Interact professionally with students and co-workers and comply with policies.
• Ensure knowledge of and implement emergency and safety procedures.

Job description

This position is located in Greenfield, IN/Amplify Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.

• Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
• Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
• Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).
• Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.
• Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.

MEAS 225 Course Standard

A qualified faculty member teaching MEAS 225 meets the Medical Assisting program standard or all of the following criteria:

• Possesses an earned associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution, and
• Has a minimum of 2-years of direct work experience as a medical assistant or as an RN or LPN in an ambulatory care setting where they performed administrative, clinical and laboratory duties as outlined in the COR of MEAS 225, and
• Possesses both of the following:
  • Current professional certification in the field (CMA, CCMA, or RMA)
  • Completed academic preparation appropriate to the course being taught.
