Job summary

Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in Augusta, ME seeks a Social Services Program Specialist II to support the CCBHC model within OBH. You will lead project activities, align initiatives with DHHS/CBHS priorities, and coordinate across offices and partners.

You will oversee implementation of the SAMHSA Children’s Mental Health Initiative Grant, develop timelines, and prepare updates for leadership.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) year combination of education and/or experience in healthcare, social service or health plan administration; health planning; policy or program design and implementation; healthcare-related program operations or project management.
• Preference given to candidates with degrees in behavioral health, human services, public administration, healthcare administration or public health.
• Ability to lead complex initiatives, manage timelines and milestones, coordinate staff and responsibilities, monitor progress, and ensure program objectives.
• Knowledge of community-based behavioral health service delivery, the CCBHC model, and lifespan needs.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple offices, community organizations, advisory groups, and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead project leadership and management; ensure CCBHC initiative aligns with DHHS/CBHS priorities; participate in staff updates and reporting.
• Execute work plans, timelines, milestones, and define responsible staff/organizations for each activity.
• Write and present updates and reports to OBH leadership; deliver or co-deliver presentations to internal/external stakeholders and committees.
• Oversee programmatic implementation and oversight of SAMHSA grant; strengthen Maine’s CCBHC model and develop a Single Point of Access for behavioral health services.
