Job summary

The CCBHC Accountant position in Birmingham, AL is responsible for ensuring PPS rate development and compliant cost reporting for CCBHC services. The role collaborates with national consultants to establish PPS rates using historical and projected cost data, and to prepare future cost reports.

Key duties include collecting and analyzing financial data, overseeing billing, and supporting budgeting, compliance, and performance monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is required.
• Experience with a CCBHC is highly desired or beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of public sector funding streams and PPS cost reporting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Data Management: Collect, verify, and analyze financial data from cost reports, DCOs, Medicaid encounter data, non-Medicaid visits, and other sources.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to CCBHC cost reporting requirements, including PPS; prepare and submit all cost reports.
• Financial Recordkeeping: Analyze CCBHC accounting activity monthly to ensure revenues, expenses, and accounts are properly recorded.
• Billing: Oversee third party billing for CCBHC.
• Collaboration: Work with consultants, program managers, DCO, and finance staff to review PPS rates and monitor cost trends.
• Advisory Role: Provide CCBHC financial analysis and recommendations to management for improvements.
• Audit & Review: Support internal/external audits, review invoices, and ensure timely monthly closings.
