CITGO Petroleum Corporation in Corpus Christi, TX seeks an experienced Analyzer Technician to develop, implement, maintain and document on-line analyzers for refinery processes and EPA compliance. This role requires strong communication and problem‑solving skills and a hands‑on approach to instrumentation.

You will install and calibrate analyzers, coordinate with operations, and support startup activities. Eligible positions may include remote work options; a high school diploma with refinery

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus five years as an Analyzer Technician in a refinery.
• OR two-year Associate's degree in Applied Science in Electrical or Instrumentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical problem solving; electronics and chromatography knowledge; PLC programming aptitude; chemistry background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, maintain and document on-line analyzers and PLC programming for refinery processes and environmental requirements.
• Install, maintain and update on-line analyzers in the field and on stacks; calibrate EPA analyzers in the refinery.
• Maintain liaison with operations to ensure analyzer accuracy.
• Coordinate analyzer projects, commissioning and startup activities.

Job Summary

Develop, implement, maintain and document on-line analyzers for the safe and efficient operation of the refinery processes and environmental requirements. Maintain effective communication and documentation of operating information. Stay abreast of new technology and all EPA regulations to be able to maintain all compliance regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent plus Five (5) years as an Analyzer Technician in a refinery

OR

Two (2) year Associate's degree in Applied Science in Electrical or Instrumentation from an accredited college

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of electronics and chromatography.
• Aptitude for programmable logic controller programming. Some chemistry background (preferred).

Job Duties

• Develop, implement, maintain and document on-line analyzers and PLC programming for effective operation of the refinery processes and environmental requirements.
• Install, maintain and update on-line analyzers in the field and on stacks throughout the plant to give the most reliable and accurate data. Maintain and calibrate all EPA required on-line analyzers in the refinery.
• Maintain liaison with operations to insure proper analyzer results by keeping them informed of analyzer accuracy.
• Implement and document proper information for EPA analyzers and process control analyzers. Manage and coordinate analyzer projects commission, startup activities.
