Job summary

Mountain View Hospital in Idaho Falls is seeking an Admissions Clerk to coordinate outpatient admissions. You will collect patient information, enter it accurately into the hospital system, and ensure patients understand Urgent Care policies.

You will interview patients or their representatives, route information to ancillary departments, and maintain a 95% accuracy rate in admissions quarterly. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or higher; BLS certification required.
• 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Ability to use hospital information system.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or higher. Current BLS Certification.

Experience

One to three month's related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.

Equipment/Technology

Ability to use hospital information system, and operate basic computer functions and software.

Language/Communication

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively, before groups of customers and or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratios and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Mental Capabilities

Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
