Job summary

Fabcon in Connecticut seeks a Caulking Crew Supervisor to lead field crews on precast caulking projects, ensuring safety and quality while coordinating with general contractors.

You will train and mentor crew members, review hours for payroll, complete take-offs, order materials, and report progress daily using tablets. Candidates should have a valid driver's license and at least two years of precast caulking experience; OSHA 30-hour is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Two years minimum of precast caulking experience.
  • Experience training others and supervising field crews.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.
  • Proficient with tablets/computers for reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Work concurrently with crew to complete job while supervising work.
  • Ensure that safety policies are followed.
  • Train and mentor others on the Caulking Crew as needed.
  • Provide work direction and promote teamwork amongst crew members.
  • Daily logging and review of crew hours for payroll accuracy.
  • Represent the company on and off job sites and communicate with general contractors/sub-contractors.
  • Implement company policies to ensure compliance with ISO/OSHA standards and DOT regulations.
  • Complete new hire paperwork for local union members when required.
  • Provide daily reporting via tablet to administrative personnel.
  • Provide input for project pre-planning and follow field plans.
  • Keep supervisors informed on job progress and estimated completion dates.
  • Communicate resource problems to supervisors promptly.
  • Verify caulk details prior to starting the job.
  • Review plans, complete take-offs, and order caulking material.
  • Complete caulking systematically to ensure completion and efficient use of resources.

Job description

Basic Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Two years minimum of precast caulking experience

  • Ability to use construction mensuration equipment (i.e. transits, levels, and laser levels)
  • Ability to work well with others and maintain professional conduct at all times
  • Possess excellent work habits and be able to demonstrate them to subordinates
  • Ability to effectively communicate with personnel at different levels
  • Ability to foresee potential problems and take necessary action to prevent the problems from occurring
  • Ability to work in an organized manner and adapt readily to change
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Completion of OSHA 30-hour
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to work extensive overtime when required
  • Ability to work from ladders and aerial work platforms
  • Field: Must be able to traverse uneven ground, move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, climb on a flatbed semi-trailer
Work Environment
  • Field: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles
