LSU New Orleans seeks an administrative professional to support Medicaid duties in New Orleans. The role processes Medicaid correspondence, scans documents, and updates client records in EDMS and LaMEDS.

Responsibilities

  • Process Medicaid correspondence via mail, fax, or designated mailboxes.
  • Scan and metadata capture; ingest into EDMS.
  • Upload appeals docs and link to client cases in LaMEDS.
  • Enter descriptive case notes in the EDMS system.
  • Notify Medicaid Analysts and CAU staff of required actions.
  • Communicate issues to supervisor in writing and verbally.
  • Update Master Chart with case information.
  • Attend DAL Hearings and prepare untimely appeal packets as needed.
  • Clear the Weekly DAL Docket and communicate with DAL to resolve docket issues.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Job description

Process
  • Process Medicaid correspondence sent through the US Postal Service, fax or designated Medicaid email boxes.
  • Scan and associate metadata, and accept into the Enterprise Document Management System (EDMS).
  • Uploading appeals documentation received and associating with client's case in LaMEDS.
  • Enter descriptive case notes into the EDMS based on documentation received.
  • May notify Medicaid Analysts and CAU staff of actions which need to be taken.
  • Communicate issues and pertinent information to supervisor as necessary through written and verbal communication.
  • Will receive email communication documenting case information and will utilize information to update the Master Chart.
  • May be called upon to attend DAL Hearings and complete untimely appeal packets
  • Clear the Weekly DAL Docket
  • Communicate directly with DAL to clear issues on docketed appeals
  • Other tasks as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree, or an Associate's degree plus 3 years of professional experience, or 6 years of professional experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 1 year professional experience performing administrative functions within an office environment or health care field.
  • Excellent analytical skills, and effective time management skills.
  • Great attention to detail and follow up.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Team and goal oriented.
DESIRED
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience performing administrative functions within an office environment or health care field.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience working with an administrative appeals process.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience utilizing SharePoint in daily job functions.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience utilizing the LaMEDS system.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in bookkeeping, health care field, or Medicaid program support.

SALARY: 36-46k
