Job summary

The Diocese of San José invites applications for a school library role focused on fostering a love of reading and building a strong learning community. You will collaborate with classroom teachers and maintain diverse resources aligned with the curriculum and instructional strategies.

You will promote ethical information use, reflect Catholic values, and support the health and welfare of all students. Evening/weekend availability may be required in a Catholic school setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; knowledge of library science preferred.
• English communication skills (written and verbal) essential; bilingual desired.
• Two years’ library setting experience preferred; training provided as needed.

Responsibilities

• Foster a creative, flexible library environment in the school community.
• Promote reading and lifelong learning.
• Collaborate with teachers to design learning experiences.
• Manage curriculum-aligned resources and formats.
• Establish procurement, acquisition, and circulation procedures.
• Promote ethical use of information and licensing of materials.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with staff, students, families, and local libraries.
