Job summary

New Jersey Natural Gas, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, seeks a Corrosion Technician II to design, coordinate, maintain, and monitor cathodic protection systems for distribution mains and services in accordance with company policies and federal regulations. The role ensures system integrity, regulatory compliance, and accurate maintenance of CP records.

Onsite position with opportunities to collaborate with Corrosion Engineers and field personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physical Sciences, or a related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in cathodic protection or related field.
• AMPP (formerly NACE) certification or related cathodic protection credentials preferred.
• Working knowledge of cathodic protection principles, corrosion control practices, and applicable pipeline safety regulations.
• Familiarity with natural gas distribution systems and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cathodically protected gas distribution mains and services for corrosion control and regulatory compliance.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and coordinate repair of CP system components.
• Assist in design, installation, testing, and maintenance of CP equipment.
• Prepare and maintain accurate CP system records and regulatory reports.
• Coordinate permits with state, county, and municipal agencies as required.
• Provide technical support to Corrosion Engineers and field personnel.
• Support CP initiatives and special projects for safe, reliable operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
