Job summary

Archdiocese of Omaha in Omaha, NE seeks a Liturgy Coordinator & Cathedral Curator to support the Archbishop's liturgical leadership and oversee the cathedral's artistic patrimony. The role collaborates with the Office of Divine Worship to plan liturgies and curate collections across the cathedral campus.

The candidate will train sacristans and ministers, supervise liturgical planning and rehearsals, and maintain the cathedral's interior/exterior aesthetic while stewarding cultural archives.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Roman Catholic liturgy.
• Working knowledge of art history and cathedral history.
• Excellent interpersonal/human relations skills.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Excellent organization – detail oriented.
• Ability to work within a budget.
• Working knowledge of the Archdiocese of Omaha's cultural context.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate archdiocesan liturgies with the Cathedral Rector and Masters of Ceremonies.
• Assist at cathedral liturgies, confirmations, graduations, and large-scale events.
• Assist in formation and training of sacristans and liturgical ministers.
• Coordinate liturgical ministers for archdiocesan liturgies.
• Plan and direct rehearsals for archdiocesan liturgies.
• Collaborate with Cathedral Sacristan and Office of Divine Worship staff.
• Collaborate with Facilities/Flower Guild for seasonal decoration.
• Oversee stocking of adequate liturgical supplies.
• Curate the Spanish Colonial Collection, Vestment Archive, Cathedral Museum, and Sunderland Gallery.
• Serve as liaison between Cathedral Arts Project and archdiocese offices.
• Collaborate on maintenance and development of the cathedral building and spaces.
