Job summary

Archdiocese of Omaha seeks a Director of Marriage, Family & Respect Life to lead the archdiocesan efforts in marriage preparation, family ministry, and respect life initiatives. The role provides strategic direction, policy development, and resource creation to support pastors, parish staff, and ministry leaders.

Responsibilities include coordinating formation opportunities, recruiting volunteers, and fostering collaboration across parishes.

Qualifications

• Active, practicing Catholic in full communion with the Catholic Church required.
• Master’s Degree in theology, or a marriage and family life related field or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in parish, diocesan, or Catholic apostolate ministry required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for marriage preparation, family ministry, and respect life initiatives.
• Develop and communicate diocesan policies and best practices across parishes.
• Plan and coordinate formation opportunities through workshops, retreats, and events.
• Recruit volunteers and coordinate events.
• Create curricula and ministry tools to support marriage and family life efforts.
• Develop a respect life strategic plan for post-Roe work.
• Foster collaboration among parishes and ministry leaders.
• Consult pastors and parish staff on program development and effectiveness.
• Support parish respect life ministries with formation and resources.
• Coordinate with local and national Catholic pro-life organizations.
• Collaborate with Nebraska Catholic Conference on relevant issues.
• Assess ministry needs and evaluate outcomes to stay responsive.
