Job summary

Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital is seeking a Senior Special Procedure Tech to support pre, intra, and post care for Heart and/or Vascular procedures in the Cath Lab. The role is on-site, part-time, and requires IR-specific certifications along with patient-centered care.

You will assist physicians, perform IV starts, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, document procedures, and educate patients and families. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in Cardiovascular technology/basic science required.
• Interventional Radiology requires completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT).
• 3 years of relevant IR technologist experience required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills essential.
• Cath Lab on-site within 30 minutes of response.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care pre, intra, and post for Heart/ Vascular procedures.
• Assist physicians and maintain patient/family centered education.
• Perform IV starts and prep patients as needed.
• Monitor hemodynamics and operate cath lab equipment.
• Document procedures and manage vascular access sites.

In response to the health care needs of a growing community, in 1977, Corewell opened a new 189-bed hospital on rural farmland in Troy. Today, Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital has grown to 530 licensed beds and offers a comprehensive array of health care services, continuing to develop to meet the needs of the growing communities it serves.

Scope to Work

Under limited supervision, the Senior Special Procedure Tech provides direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures to assist physicians and delivers quality patient/family centered care. The incumbent may be required to perform IV starts, prep patients, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, document procedures, vascular access site management, and provide patient/family education.

Qualifications and Requirements

Associate’s degree or equivalent in Cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic License, Exercise Physiologist, training and/or education Required. Interventional Radiology requires completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT). 3 years of relevant experience as an Interventional Radiologist Technologist Required. Employee must be an expert and able to train others in the clinical skills listed within below grid per each individual department and/or site scope required. If the department is a combination of specialties employee must be an expert in all areas that are performed required. Basic Computer skills, math skills, exceptional communication skills, and outstanding customer service skills. Cath Lab must be on site within 30 min. IR Call response time may vary by facility.
