Job summary

100 LCMC Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technician in Louisiana to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency in x-ray and angiography, prioritizing patient safety and image quality.

You will collaborate with interventional cardiologists and nurses, ensuring compliance with departmental protocols and maintaining current licensure. Qualifications

  • Experience or training as a Radiology Technician or Cath Lab Technician.
  • Must hold valid licensing from Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board.
  • Proficiency in x-ray and angiography procedures required.

In our Cardiac Cath Lab, you won’t just operate advanced imaging technology — you’ll be an essential part of a highly specialized cardiovascular team. You’ll work alongside experienced interventional cardiologists and skilled nurses to diagnose and treat complex vascular disease in real time. Every case is dynamic. Every decision matters. General Duties
  • Demonstrates proficiency and quality in procedures according to departmental policy and procedure in technical performance of x‑ray and angiography.
  • Assigned duties are required to be accepted and performed according to departmental protocols.
  • Select appropriate techniques, label and mark digital films correctly.
  • Apply knowledge of the principle of scrubbing circulating, X‑ray and hemodynamic monitoring techniques.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all Cath lab / specials equipment.
  • Operate the Medrad injector and Radiology equipment.
  • Demonstrate safety and job knowledge by maintaining radiation exposure ALARA and operating x‑ray devices according to safety protocols.
  • Ensure X‑ray badges are maintained according to policy and employees are aware of results badges.
  • Maintain good radiation safety and service are provided by Cardiovascular/X‑ray Tech as needed.
  • Be accurate with x‑ray dosage and time of exposure.
  • Ensure radiation equipment is tested at the appropriate intervals so that exposure to patients and coworkers is kept to the lowest levels.
  • Maintain current licence with LSRT and ARRT.
  • Maintain current licence for CPR.
  • Coordinate work schedule with Departmental Director and/or scheduling desk to assure workload coverage.
  • Assume responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the Cardiology department.
  • Maintain a daily log of patients seen / complete exam billing forms.
  • Maintain equipment and work area and maintain adequate supplies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience or training as a Radiology Technician, Cath Lab Technician, Radiology Special Procedures tech, or Interventional Radiology Technician.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Radiology Technician from the Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board.
  • Basic Life Support (HeartSaver & First Aid) from the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Radiography Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
