Job summary

100 LCMC Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform X-ray procedures and ensure high-quality exams. Job description

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate skills and knowledge in using all X‑ray equipment and performing all X‑ray protocols and procedures.
  • Produce high‑quality exams within the appropriate time for each procedure.
  • Verify patient identity, body part, and body side before each procedure.
  • Administer patient‑care practices according to department and hospital policies.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical history, informed consent, and to explain procedures.
  • Recognize clinical or emergent problems that may affect exams and take appropriate action.
  • Respond to and follow up on critical test findings.
  • Acquire and evaluate patient lab values (e.g., BUN, CR, pregnancy, glucose) when applicable.
  • Maintain equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition.
  • Inspect suite, equipment, and accessories daily for hazards; troubleshoot malfunctions and report dangerous conditions.
  • Check stock supply levels and maintain supplies at par.
  • Perform quality‑control checks in accordance with policy requirements; participate in department QC and PI programs.
  • Follow aseptic techniques, wash hands before and after patient contact, and adhere to body substance isolation policies.
  • Wear film badge during duty and follow departmental badge‑result policy.
  • Record required information accurately and legibly on requisition forms.
  • Perform other routine clerical duties and verify data in PACS/RADIANT.
Qualifications
  • Preferred: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program and healthcare experience as a radiology technologist.
  • Required: Basic Life Support (CPR, BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Required: Radiology Technician (ARRT) certification from the Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners.
Reporting Relationships

Does not formally supervise employees.

Functional Demands

Medium – Physical requirements exceed those for light work. The job involves frequent lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, twisting, bending, reaching, and repetitive motion, with occasional climbing. Work requires standing and walking for most of the day and may involve handling weights up to 50lbs.
