Job summary

Sierra Medical Center in Reno, NV, part of Northern Nevada Health System, seeks a registered nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care in the Pre/Post Cath lab, supporting diverse cardiac procedures and ensuring safe, compassionate care.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients undergoing electrophysiology, device implants, and coronary interventions, while coordinating with physicians and staff and managing documentation.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in Nevada.
• Two years nursing experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Pre/Post Cath lab area to diverse patient populations.
• Demonstrates composure in fast-paced patient prep and recovery environment.
• Perform nursing duties such as assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of patients undergoing cardiac procedures including electrophysiology, cardiac device implants, coronary intervention and structural heart.
• Assist in bedside procedures including cardioversions, transesophageal echocardiogram, and implantable loop recorders.
• Address the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the procedural environment.
• Identify and prioritize the need for further assessment based on the patient019s clinical presentation/diagnosis.
• Document pertinent patient data, nursing interventions and patient responses; ensure timely, concise and legible notes.
• Communicate with physicians, nurses, directors and co-workers about changes in patient019s condition and test results.
• Consult with staff, physicians and nurse leaders to ensure patient needs are met.
• Provide pain management and appropriate medication dosing.
• Recover patients post anesthesia care (PACU) phase I and post moderate sedation (phase II).
• Follow regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies and procedures.
• Assist with maintenance of Cath lab Pre/Post equipment and inventory.
