Job summary

Phelps Health in Missouri seeks a Registered Nurse for the PreOp/PACU area to provide direct patient care using the nursing process, ensuring safety and quality at every step. You will administer medications, teach patients and families, and document care in accordance with hospital policies.

Ideal candidates hold a BSN (preferred) and an active MO or compact-state RN license, with ACLS/PALS and BLS certifications desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required.
• Current RN license in Missouri or a compact state.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in the PreOp/PACU area.
• Administer medications and perform nursing interventions with patient/family teaching.
• Follow hospital policy to ensure patient safety and infection prevention.
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and monitor status.
• Document patient care activities accurately to meet quality measures.
• Communicate pertinent information to physicians and care team.
• Explain care plans to patients and families to support outcomes.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while maintaining teamwork and accountability.
• Demonstrate adaptability and pursue ongoing education and skills development.
• Perform delegated tasks to maintain quality and safety.
