Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A. A.) from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience
• BLS required upon hire
• ACLS required within 12 months of hire
• Language skills: ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, procedures, or regulations; ability to write reports and present information
• Mathematical skills: ability to calculate figures, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

Responsibilities

• Locates historical information on patient and maintains patient files after procedures
• Performs regular cleaning of equipment, transducers, and accessories
• Inspects catheters and supplies for expiration dates and restocks as needed
• Follows all radiation safety guidelines and procedures
• Schedules procedures for the lab and reviews relevant patient history
• Aids physician with catheter insertions and interventional procedures
• Records procedure data accurately and calculates echocardiographic metrics
• Maintains cath lab network computers and PACS systems
• Assists during cardioversions and related cath lab activities
• Reviews procedures and applies appropriate charges
