Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Richardson, TX seeks a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to assist with invasive cardiovascular procedures under supervision. Primary duties include monitoring, scrub and circulator roles, and equipment operation in the cath lab.

Requirements include associate or bachelor degree in science or related healthcare, current AHA ACLS, RCIS within six months (or ARR RT required in lieu of RCIS).

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in science or commensurate healthcare experience is required or preferred.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is required.
• RCIS certification within six months of date of hire or ARRT TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during cath lab procedures by interpreting basic and advanced dysrhythmia and EKGs and operating physiologic recorder.
• Assists physician with most procedures as a scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under physician direction.
• Assists with transport of patients to and from the department.
• Cleans and stocks cath lab and assists with inventory control.
• Prepares the lab and patient for procedures, maintaining sterile technique and marking arterial pulses.

Associate or Bachelor’s degree, science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience
