Job summary

Trinity Health Nazareth Hospital is seeking an IR/Cath Lab Tech to support interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization procedures. The role includes setting up rooms, equipment, and supplies, scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring cases with emphasis on sterile technique and patient safety.

The technician will operate imaging equipment (fluoroscopy, X-ray) and assist with contrast media and devices while monitoring vitals and radiation safety.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required.
• BLS, ACLS certifications required.
• ARRT and/or RCIS certification required.
• Previous IR and Cath Lab hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness and sterility.
• Scrub, circulate, or monitor cases as needed.
• Operate imaging equipment during procedures (fluoroscopy, X-ray).
• Prepare contrast media, catheters, wires and interventional devices.
• Monitor patient vitals and hemodynamic data; report changes promptly.
• Ensure proper radiation safety practices for patients, staff, and physicians.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection control standards.
• Document procedural information in the electronic health record.
• Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and post-procedure care and transport.
• Clean, restock, and maintain equipment and inventory.
• Respond to emergencies per department protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and procedural team.

Position Purpose

Responsible for assisting the Physician during procedures analyzes hemodynamics and EKG, removes sheaths, and uses sterile technique to set up laboratory.

As an IR/Cath Lab Tech, you will

• Assist physicians during interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization procedures

• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness and sterility

• Scrub, circulate, or monitor cases in accordance with role assignment and department needs

• Operate imaging equipment (fluoroscopy, X‑ray, hemodynamic monitoring systems) during procedures

• Prepare contrast media, catheters, wires, and interventional devices

• Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic data during procedures and report changes promptly

• Ensure proper radiation safety practices for patients, physicians, and staff

• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control and safety standards

• Document procedural information accurately in the electronic health record

• Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and post‑procedure care and transport

• Clean, restock, and maintain procedural equipment and inventory

• Respond appropriately to emergency situations following department protocols

• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the procedural team

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates degree required.

• BLS required

• ACLS required

• ARRT and/or RCIS certification required.

• Previous IR and Cath Lab experience in hospital setting required.
