Job summary

Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia is seeking an IR/Cath Lab Technologist to assist physicians during interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization procedures, prep rooms, scrub, circulate and monitor cases, and operate imaging equipment. You will ensure sterility, prepare contrast media, monitor vital signs, and document in the EHR throughout the patient’s procedure.

Requires an Associates degree, BLS, ACLS, and ARRT/RCIS certification with prior IR/Cath Lab hospital experience.

• Associates degree required.

• ARRT and/or RCIS certification required.
• Previous IR and Cath Lab experience in hospital setting required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization procedures
• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness and sterility
• Scrub, circulate, or monitor cases in accordance with role assignment and department needs
• Operate imaging equipment (fluoroscopy, X-ray, hemodynamic monitoring systems) during procedures
• Prepare contrast media, catheters, wires, and interventional devices
• Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic data during procedures and report changes promptly
• Ensure proper radiation safety practices for patients, physicians, and staff
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control and safety standards
• Document procedural information accurately in the electronic health record
• Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and post-procedure care and transport
• Clean, restock, and maintain procedural equipment and inventory
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations following department protocols
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the procedural team

Position Purpose

Responsible for assisting the Physician during procedures analyzes hemodynamics and EKG, removes sheaths, and uses sterile technique to set up laboratory.

As an IR/Cath Lab Tech, you will

• Assist physicians during interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization procedures
• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness and sterility
• Scrub, circulate, or monitor cases in accordance with role assignment and department needs
• Operate imaging equipment (fluoroscopy, X-ray, hemodynamic monitoring systems) during procedures
• Prepare contrast media, catheters, wires, and interventional devices
• Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic data during procedures and report changes promptly
