The Wildbirch Hotel in downtown Anchorage is seeking an experienced Catering Sales Manager to book and shape events that feel nothing like the typical hotel banquet. You will collaborate with our culinary and F&B teams to create menus and concepts that showcase Anchorage’s flavor and local partnerships.

Qualifications

• 2+ years catering or event sales experience, ideally in a hotel or upscale setting.
• Proven track record of meeting revenue goals.
• Strong knowledge of food, beverage and event logistics.
• Excellent written communication, organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Proactively prospect, book and grow catering and event business, including social events, corporate meetings, retreats, weddings, nonprofit gatherings and private dining.
• Respond quickly to leads and inquiries, conduct site tours and build proposals that win business.
• Create menus and event concepts with clients in partnership with the culinary and F&B teams.
• Prepare contracts, BEOs and event timelines with accurate, complete details.
• Serve as the client’s main point of contact from booking through event day, then follow up afterward.
• Hand off events smoothly to the Banquet Manager and operations team, and stay involved on event day as needed.
• Meet or exceed catering revenue goals and track pipeline, forecasts and results in the sales system.
• Build relationships with local businesses, planners, organizations and community partners to bring in repeat and referral business.
• Represent the hotel at networking and community events.

Catering Sales Manager: The Wildbirch Hotel

The Wildbirch Hotel, a JdV by Hyatt lifestyle property in downtown Anchorage, is looking for an experienced Catering Sales Manager to book and shape events that feel nothing like the typical hotel banquet. Our meeting spaces work like galleries, with rotating work by local artists and a permanent service bar on the meeting level. Every event we host comes with the flavor of Anchorage, from food by Crimson’s culinary team to connections with local makers and guides. We’re looking for someone who knows the local market and enjoys turning a client’s idea into an event their guests will remember.

What we’re looking for

• Proven track record of meeting revenue goals
• Strong knowledge of food, beverage and event logistics
• Excellent written communication, organization and attention to detail
• Experience with hotel sales and catering systems (Delphi, Opera Sales & Catering or similar) preferred
• Established relationships in the Anchorage market are a strong plus
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends based on event needs
