City Barbeque in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Catering Sales Manager to lead sales and wedding development, coordinating events and catering operations as the market grows. You will manage direct sales efforts, local marketing, and client relationships to book catering leads and drive revenue.

The role requires strong experience in catering/events, exceptional communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as Catering/Events manager or similar role.
• Strong sales/negotiation/closing skills.
• Excellent communication both internally and externally.
• Polished, professional demeanor with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Weekend availability and flexible schedule.

Responsabilités

• Focus on revenue-producing activity and maximize selling time for direct sales and local marketing.
• Engage in strategic planning, cold calling, sales meetings and effective closing.
• Represent the company at bridal shows and events to book catering leads.
• Communicate with guests via phone, email, or in person to upsell and gather details.
• Manage CRM entries and maintain ongoing prospect lists for growth.
• Oversee ordering logistics and ensure clear communication between client, catering team, and operations.
• Direct the catering operations team to meet event goals and ensure timely delivery and setup.
• Develop and manage an operations team, including hiring, training, and performance reviews.
• Responsible for P&L, including food, supplies, labor, and equipment.
