Job summary

Dreamland BBQ in Alabama is seeking a Catering Assistant to help deliver our iconic open pit barbeque and a fun dining experience for guests. This role supports the Catering Manager, assists with menu planning, event setup, and serving at various venues, while upholding health and safety standards.

Prior experience is preferred, but we’re willing to train the right candidate. You must be able to multitask in a busy environment, lift 25 lbs+, and stand/walk for long periods as events require.

Qualifications

• Exceptional multitasking skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to lift 25 lbs. or more, stand and walk for extended periods, bend, kneel, and lift tray overhead.

Responsibilities

• Total earnings based on base hourly rate plus weekly tips and server fees.
• Support Catering Manager with advertising catering services throughout local and surrounding communities
• Plan food menus according to customer needs and expectations
• Prepare food in a healthy and clean kitchen environment
• Consult with customers about any potential changes before every event
• Transport food to and from venues
• Decorate food-serving areas at the venues
• Clean food-serving areas after the events
• Serve food and drinks at the venues
• Ensure supplies are well-organized and stocked
• Know all the food ingredients
