Job summary

The Dalcy is a private event space in Chicago seeking a Catering Operations Manager to lead onsite and offsite events. You will supervise BOH and FOH, coordinate with sales and catering teams, vendors and clients for seamless service.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of Catering Operations / Events experience in a full-service restaurant.
• Skilled in leading and developing teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage the setup and breakdown and oversee hosting of onsite and offsite catering events, coordinating BOH/FOH with clients, sales and vendors.
• Present invoices, process payments, and balance sales/receipts.
• Interpret event instructions and timelines, adapt to changes, and implement contract adjustments from Sales & Catering.
• Ensure event setups/breakdowns are completed on schedule.
• Coordinate with onsite AV/Technical team for setup/breakdown and equipment maintenance.
• Attend tastings/meetings and relay information to the team.
• Interview, hire, onboard, train, and schedule catering staff with GM/managers.
• Maintain a list of preferred vendors (valet, security, etc.).
• Promote teamwork across all teams and handle guest/vendor/employee issues with tact and courtesy.
• Work varied shifts at multiple sites, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, with possible travel.
• Move up to 10-50 pounds as needed.
