Job description

This is an overtime eligible manager (OEM) position.

The primary function is to increase revenues and profits by generating catering sales and business (both social and corporate) through proactive sales efforts targeting local, regional, and national markets and clientele.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Proactively pursue leads and existing accounts via telephone, outside sales, site inspections, and written communication.
  • Attend trade shows, community events, and industry meetings related to assigned markets. Use sales skills and hospitality knowledge to stay informed about market trends, competitors, and customers.
  • Communicate all sales agreements and function contracts with clients to relevant departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Assist the Director of Catering / Convention Services in achieving and implementing sales activities aligned with the Catering Sales Marketing plan.
  • Conduct hotel and banquet facility tours; entertain qualified potential clients following company policies.
  • Demonstrate leadership, organizational skills, revenue management, excellent communication, guest service focus, teamwork, and a passion for sales. Creativity, motivation, and dedication are essential.
  • Maintain a professional appearance; respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, ensuring satisfaction.
  • Regularly communicate with key wedding planners, social contacts, and industry partners; establish and promote account relationships.
  • Actively seek new business opportunities locally and nationally by visiting offices, attending industry functions, and pursuing leads for catering business.
  • Maximize hotel space utilization to boost food and beverage revenues.
  • Provide accurate information to departments regarding group needs, including Banquet Event Orders, resumes, and internal communications; document changes and special requests; manage event details for satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Exceed client expectations by anticipating needs and delivering high service levels.
  • Review and approve event bills for accuracy.

Conduct post-event evaluations to identify areas for improvement.

Responsibilities

Prior catering sales experience with a successful track record is required. Must have exceptional customer service skills and a high sense of urgency. 2-4 years of solid social sales experience preferred.

Experience with Delphi software is helpful. EOE/AA

Qualifications

Required: 5 years of catering coordination experience.
