Job summary

The Ritz-Carlton Chicago is seeking a Catering Sales Manager to solicit, capture, plan and coordinate small meetings (10 rooms or less) and social/catering functions, maximizing banquet space to meet revenue goals.

You will build relationships with clients and collaborate with culinary, banquet, conference services and hotel operations to deliver unforgettable events that reflect The Ritz-Carlton's standards of service and drive business success.

Qualifications

• More than two years of post-high-school education.
• One to two years of related experience.
• Thorough knowledge of catering, F&B, menu development and pricing.
• Strong negotiation and client relationship skills.
• Excellent communication and sales planning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat catering business to maximize revenue.
• Execute a territorial marketing strategy to meet sales goals.
• Plan and detail the meeting/function with the client including: space requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes/decorations.
• Prepare contracts and banquet/event orders and coordinate with hotel teams.
• Prepare status and period end reports.
• Maintain knowledge of procedures and competition to improve sales strategies.
• Maintain professional communication with guests and associates.
