Job summary

Harvard University HUDS is seeking an experienced Event Manager to independently execute catered events, coordinate client relationships, and ensure high-level service and menu execution across multiple locations.

The role involves collaboration with HUDS and Executive Education teams, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, staffing, and communications throughout planning and event execution.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ relevant work experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Hotel/Hospitality Management or 5 years front-of-house catering experience in high-volume events.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
• Ability to learn other software applications as needed.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays regularly.
• Ability to develop creative concepts to provide clients with unique experiences.

Responsibilities

• Oversee execution of events across multiple locations, assign staff duties, manage timelines and client expectations.
• Coordinate kitchen-to-events flow, confirm set-ups, and communicate changes to all parties.
• Ensure Executive Education events meet standards, maintain dietary rosters and special meals.
• Build and maintain relationships with catering clients, on-site managers, and HUDS/Harvard departments.
• Manage all aspects of events, including site visits, ordering items, and decor.
• Create clear, consistent signage and dietary information.
