Essential Job Duties

Rave! Catering is seeking individuals to join our Pack as a Catering Driver. Rave! Catering proudly employs experienced, certified chefs and catering professionals to provide the highest degree of service possible to ensure successful events.

• Transport food, equipment and staff for Rave! Catering.
• Pick up prepared foods and deliver to campus retail locations.
• Transport campus supplies within Campus Enterprises departments.
• Load and off-load cargo for delivery or pickup.
• Assist in pulling inventory to be delivered.
• Other duties as assigned to ensure NC State Dining business needs are met. Position may be asked to assist in other locations as necessary.

This is an hourly position, that includes a State required 32‑day break at the end of 11 months.

NC State Dining provides campus‑wide food services to students, staff, and faculty on the North Carolina State University Campus. NC State Dining operates 11 cafes, 3 food courts and 6 dining halls, 3 markets, 2 restaurants, vending, a nutritional counseling service, and a catering department. The department employs approximately 1000 temporary and student employees and approximately 190 permanent EPS and SHRA employees.

Requirements and Preferences

Work Schedule: Hours are variable based on business needs, may include evening and weekend shifts. Please list your availability in the appropriate section of the application.

• Contribute to maintaining a Grade A sanitation rating of 95% or better.

Minimum Experience/Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work will also be considered.
• Experience in a similar capacity.

• Drive safely on campus with attention to detail for public safety.
• Provide exemplary customer service to every guest, including the ability to remain professional and respectful under pressure when dealing with difficult situations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and peers.
• Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions, including excellence in completing all tasks.
• Ability to adapt to the changing customer volume level with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and work well as part of a team.
• This position requires standing for long periods of time, walking, bending, twisting, pulling and pushing. Because of the nature of a food service operation and working in a kitchen, you must be able to work in extremely hot and cold conditions.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 lb with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education:

• Prior experience driving a box truck.
• Must work on a scheduled time‑line.

Required License or Certification:

• North Carolina Driver's License with a clean driving record.
