Join to apply for the CATERING CAPTAIN (FULL TIME) role at Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services.

We are hiring immediately for full-time CATERING CAPTAIN positions.

Location: 1845 Fairmount Street, Wichita, KS 67260 (Note: online applications accepted only)

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, hours may vary. Must be able to work nights and weekends. More details upon interview.

Requirements: Prior bar, inventory, supervisory, and banquet experience preferred.

Pay Range: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Job Summary

Coordinates catering staff schedules to ensure timely delivery, service, and cleanup of functions. Prepares and serves food under supervision. May drive to deliver food and beverages.

Essential Duties
  1. Determine workload from catering orders.
  2. Meet with function leaders to discuss setup and resolve last-minute issues.
  3. Interact with customers and handle complaints professionally.
  4. Understand menu items thoroughly.
  5. Instruct staff on work expectations.
  6. Assist in setting up rooms.
  7. Deliver food and supplies.
  8. Serve food and beverages.
  9. Return equipment and supplies.
  10. Follow HACCP standards for presentation and safety.
  11. Maintain sanitation of equipment and supplies.
  12. Follow recipes and standards for food prep.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
