Job summary

Oak View Group in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Catering Barback to set up and stock bars for catered events. You will assist with receiving and storing product, maintain bar equipment, and be available for events as scheduled. The role pays $17.00 per hour and is tip eligible.

Qualifications

• 6 months’ experience as a barback or in a similar position in a restaurant or related food industry preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and effectively prioritize in a continuously changing event environment.
• Ability to be self-directed on tasks as well as work with a team.
• Ability to work a flexible event-based schedule, including nights & weekends.
• Able to lift heavy objects regularly.

Responsibilities

• Have bars moved and set up according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO) on time for catered events.
• Maintain a clean, safe, & organized bar area; manage inventory and storage.
• Report unsafe conditions or injuries to the manager on duty.
• Transport beverages to bars for catering events (beer, wine, liquor, garnishes, ice, mixers).
• Prep, stock, and restock assigned bars; change out kegs as needed.
