Job summary

Montefiore Mount Vernon is recruiting a Category Manager for Medical Surgical to lead end-to-end source-to-contract activities in a fast-paced healthcare environment from Tarrytown, NY.

The ideal candidate will have a background in contract spend areas such as medical-surgical products, respiratory and nursing supplies, with strong analytic, negotiation, and vendor-management skills to drive cost savings and value for clinicians and the organization.

Qualifications

• BS degree required; Masters preferred.
• 4+ years in contract management or hospital supply chain management.
• Experience with medical-surgical categories and distribution.
• Familiarity with ERP, contract management software, and supplier analyses.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end source-to-contract for clinical categories.
• Develop sourcing strategies with stakeholders to drive cost, quality and outcomes.
• Lead supplier negotiations, contract development/management, and vendor management.
• Identify initiatives, perform market/spend analyses, benchmarking, and RFP/RFI.
• Present complex supply chain initiatives to leadership.

The Category ManagerMedical Surgicalposition requires an experienced sourcing professional with a background inclinicalmaterials and servicescontracting with superior analytic and problem-solving skills supporting afar-paced, transformation-oriented work environment.

Theideal candidatewillhaveexperience in contract spend areas suchas,but not limited to,medical-surgicalproducts,respiratory,critical care,nursing andprocedural supplies,pediatrics,and clinical capitalpurchasing acquisitions.

This position will be the primary point of contact for allissuesrelated to medical surgical distribution,anddistribution contracting at theGPO and local level. The Category Manager will work across all SupplyChainand Clinicaldepartmentsto ensureappropriate performanceand value from Montefiore's contracted medical surgical distribution partnerand directvendors..

Thispositionis responsible forthe end-to-end processofsource-to-contract for aclinicalcategory(s)within a health care settingutilizingsourcing best practices. The Category Manager will develop sourcing strategies in collaboration with stakeholders thatachievecost, quality, and outcomes.TheCategoryManager willbe responsible foridentifyinginitiatives,developing market/spend analysis, benchmarking comparisons, and competitive procurement documents (RFP/RFI). This position willleadsupplier negotiations, contract development/management, vendor management, and the identification/realizationof savings opportunities. The ideal candidateis skilled at creating presentations and presenting/discussing complex Supply Chain initiatives to all levels of leadership.

Qualifications

• BS Science or Business Administration Degree Required - Masters Preferred
• 4+ Years of Contract Management and/or Hospital Supply Chain Management Distribution experience within Medical Surgical, inpatient, or ambulatory settings Required
