Job summary

Montefiore Health System is recruiting a Category Manager for Medical Surgical to lead source-to-contract processes across clinical categories. You will partner with stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, and patient outcomes, while negotiating with suppliers and managing contracts and vendors.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in hospital supply chain management, strong analytical and presentation skills, and experience with ERP and contract management systems

Qualifications

• BS Science or Business Administration required; Masters preferred.
• 4+ years of contract management and/or hospital supply chain management distribution experience within medical surgical, inpatient, or ambulatory settings required.
• ERP, contract management software, inventory systems.
• Accounting principles, cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, market and supplier research and analysis.
• Value analysis and MS Office suite familiarity.

The Category Manager Medical Surgical position requires an experienced sourcing professional with a background in clinical materials and services contracting with superior analytic and problem-solving skills supporting a fast-paced, transformation-oriented work environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in contract spend areas such as, but not limited to, medical-surgical products, respiratory, critical care, nursing and procedural supplies, pediatrics, and clinical capital purchasing acquisitions.

This position will be the primary point of contact for all issues related to medical surgical distribution, and distribution contracting at the GPO and local level. The Category Manager will work across all Supply Chain and Clinical departments to ensure appropriate performance and value from Montefiore’s contracted medical surgical distribution partner and direct vendors.

This position is responsible for the end-to-end process of source-to-contract for a clinical category(s) within a health care setting utilizing sourcing best practices. The Category Manager will develop sourcing strategies in collaboration with stakeholders that achieve cost, quality, and outcomes. The Category Manager will be responsible for identifying initiatives, developing market/spend analysis, benchmarking comparisons, and competitive procurement documents (RFP/RFI). This position will lead supplier negotiations, contract development/management, vendor management, and the identification/realization of savings opportunities. The ideal candidate is skilled at creating presentations and presenting/discussing complex Supply Chain initiatives to all levels of leadership.
