Job summary

Sysco Northeast RDC in the New York area is seeking a Category Management professional to drive assortment strategies, supplier relationships, and local promotions aligned with corporate goals.

You will support OpCo sales, coordinate with planners and brokers, execute category initiatives, and help optimize pricing and inventory to improve efficiency and customer service. This role requires strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in retail, wholesale or distribution.
• Ability to manage conflict and resolve issues with facts.
• Strong written and verbal communications.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Execute Category Management initiatives within assigned categories.
• Support category success and management of core suppliers.
• Communicate with planners, suppliers, brokers, sales and customer service.
• Promote local assortment to achieve company goals.
• Manage local supplier and broker relationships.
• Provide input and guidance to OpCo Sales Specialist.
• Facilitate corporate assortment training as required.
• Negotiate and review supplier-driven pricing and Earned Income programs.
• Drive focus categories and support promotions and selling events.
• Develop new items and vendor creation; drive Sysco Brand sales.
