Job summary

US Foods is seeking a seasoned Category Manager to support category strategy across multiple Distribution Centers in the defined Area, driving assortment changes and aligning with national priorities. You will analyze local market data, manage vendor relationships, and lead training with culinary and sales teams to execute plans, while supporting area bids and customer onboarding.

Qualifications

Four-year college degree in business or related field required.
Minimum 7 years category management experience, preferably in food service/food manufacturing.
Ability to operate in a matrix organization and drive change across multiple groups.
Strong business acumen, interpersonal skills, and presentation ability; proficient in Word/Excel; PowerPoint is a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop implementation plan for category strategy across multiple Distribution Centers and align with national goals.
Review Area product assortment, identify growth opportunities, manage DWOs, and reduce SKU duplication.
Gather local market data and report opportunities; finalize Area assortment and core SKUs.
Lead product training and introductions with DSS, Specialists and sales staff; ensure alignment with US Foods strategy.
Support FSQA inquiries and assist with area bids; coordinate customer onboarding and keep staff informed.
