Job summary

TEGNA Inc. is seeking a seasoned Category Manager to drive indirect spend strategies across Telecom, Broadcast Technology, and IT. You will develop category plans, lead cross‑functional teams, and manage supplier relationships to deliver cost savings enterprise‑wide.

Based in Tysons, VA, the role requires 3–6 years in procurement/category management, with a track record of targeted reductions and strong analytical capabilities. Travel to US facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of category management experience in indirect categories within procurement or strategic sourcing.
• Experience leading a category team to drive savings and measure results.
• Demonstrated success achieving cost reductions for more than $15 million in category spend.
• Experience with Telecom, Broadcast Technology, Hardware, Software and Services categories is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead key projects and strategic initiatives for assigned indirect spend areas.
• Develop and maintain category management processes across various sourcing subcategories.
• Lead cross-functional teams to achieve cost reduction targets and supplier performance goals.
• Provide quotes, price negotiations, and manage contracts and supplier relationships.
• Maintain reports on sourcing requests, quotes, business cases, and contracts.
• Travel occasionally to US facilities as needed.
