Recru in Spring, TX is seeking an IT Category Manager to lead sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management across technology spend categories.

IT Category Manager leads sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management across technology spend categories. Works closely with IT, Finance, Legal, and Security to maximize supplier value and ensure effective contract execution. Ideal for an individual contributor who builds stakeholder relationships, negotiates favorable outcomes, and manages supplier partnerships in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
Lead sourcing initiatives across IT categories including software, SaaS, IT services, telecom, infrastructure, hardware, and related technology solutions.
Manage RFx processes, supplier evaluations, bid analysis, and vendor selection recommendations.
Negotiate pricing, contract terms, renewals, and commercial agreements with technology vendors.
Coordinate contract review and approval processes with internal stakeholders.
Track contract expiration dates, renewal schedules, and negotiation timelines.
Serve as trusted advisor to business stakeholders and primary point of contact for assigned vendors.
Support supplier performance discussions and resolve issues when needed.
Identify cost savings, cost avoidance opportunities, and process improvements.
Track sourcing activity, savings metrics, vendor performance, and contract status.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and approval requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
5-7+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, vendor management, or contract negotiation.
Experience negotiating technology-related contracts including software, SaaS, telecom, infrastructure, hardware, or IT services.
Strong understanding of vendor management and contract lifecycle processes.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Experience supporting procurement activities within a mid-to-large enterprise environment.
Familiarity with procurement, sourcing, or contract management platforms.
Experience conducting supplier performance reviews and governance activities.
Exposure to spend analysis, budgeting, and savings tracking.
Experience partnering with IT, Legal, Finance, and Information Security teams.
