Job summary

Hampton Products seeks a Category Advisor for the Walmart Team in Bentonville, AR. This role works closely with Walmart merchants and modular planning teams to deliver unbiased, fact-based insights that drive category growth and support merchant strategies.

The successful candidate will synthesize data, lead category reviews, and develop objective assortment recommendations while presenting findings to stakeholders with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of category management principles.
• Ability to analyze large data sets and translate findings into recommendations.
• Understanding of retail performance metrics (sales, units, market share, space productivity).
• Ability to execute category reviews with limited supervision.
• Strong business acumen to translate merchant strategies into analytics.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize POS, syndicated data, market analysis, shopper and consumer insights to identify opportunities.
• Serve as a category expert with deep understanding of performance, trends, and opportunities.
• Identify category risks and growth opportunities and develop fact-based recommendations.
• Develop clear, data-driven category stories and business opportunities.
• Lead category reviews and assortment optimization based on productivity and market trends.
• Develop objective assortment recommendations including additions, deletions, and distribution changes.
• Create and maintain reporting and scorecards to monitor performance and guide decisions.
• Present insights and recommendations to Walmart merchants and leadership.
