Farm Bureau Financial Services seeks a Catastrophe Claims Representative Inside to respond quickly to CAT events, investigate and negotiate homeowner, farm, and commercial claims using virtual tools. The role covers eight states with a hybrid work arrangement and requires a college degree or equivalent plus relevant experience.

You will evaluate coverages, handle negotiations, document findings, and collaborate with claims managers, engineers, and counsel to ensure fair settlements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 1 year of relevant experience.
• Experience in construction, estimating, and estimating systems is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to CAT storm events with immediate response to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate property claim assignments.
• Use virtual tools to handle homeowner, farm, and commercial claims across 8 P/C states.
• Evaluate coverages, investigate damages, issue payments and set reserves.
• Negotiate with clients and contractors to reach fair settlements.
• Document investigations and plans of action for defendable claim files.
• Collaborate with managers, engineers, reinsurers, and legal counsel as needed.
• During non-storm times assist with supplemental and replacement cost claims.

What You’ll Do

As a Catastrophe Claims Representative Inside, you will be responsible for immediate response to CAT storm events to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate property claim assignments involving homeowner, farm, and commercial risks. In this role, you will operate from an office setting utilizing virtual tools – it is not required to physically be at catastrophic events. In this role you will also:

• Provide immediate response to handle minor to moderate storm damage claims throughout the 8 P/C states utilizing virtual inspection tools.
• Accurately evaluate coverages, investigate and evaluate damages, issue payments and set reserves on homeowner, farm, and commercial policies according to Claims Best Practices and company guidelines.
• Effectively negotiate with client/members and contractors in a professional manner to attain a fair settlement.
• Document investigations, evaluations, recommendations, and plans of action with results focused on developing a defendable claim file.
• Seek input from the property claims managers, engineers, reinsurers, legal counsel, and casualty consultants are required.
• During storm events review estimates from field adjusters, and complete handling of the claim through conclusion.
• Develop and maintain plans with the CAT Claims Manager to improve the performance of the Company’s storm claim handling process.
• During non-storm times, may assist absent property staff with handling supplemental and replacement cost claims on non-storm claims.

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

• College degree or equivalent plus 1 year of relevant experience required.
• Experience in construction, estimating, and estimating systems involved in the handling of property claims preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to negotiate effectively and present yourself in a professional manner.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as analytical ability.
• Strong computer skills are required in order to quickly learn our multiple systems.
• Must maintain on-call availability.
• Ability to ready, write and speak the English language, bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
