Job summary

Colorado Mountain College seeks a Library Specialist to deliver bibliographic instruction, information retrieval and reference services. You will catalog and classify materials, assist users, compile data, and support library operations in a dynamic campus setting.

Required education ranges from a bachelor’s degree with 4 years’ experience to a high school diploma with 7 years of related work. Bilingual ability is preferred; state employment location within Colorado is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and 4-year related work experience; or, Associate’s Degree or two-year college certificate and 6 years related work experience, or High School Diploma/GED and 7 years related work experience.
• Or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the functions of the position.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Instruct Library users in research methodologies and practices.
• Catalogues and classifies print and non-print materials.
• Instructs/assists users and patrons in Library computer lab.
• Provide technical support for library systems and computer applications.
• Prepares and verifies bibliographies, participates in circulation of materials, compiles data and statistics.
• Prepares reports; maintains records.
• Participates in collection development.
• Aids in long-range planning, provides interlibrary lending services for patrons, implementation of policies and procedures, and overall Library operations.
• Aids in training part-time and student staff.
• Promotes Campus Library services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
