Job summary

Norton Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a CAT Scanner Technologist to operate CT imaging systems, prepare patients, and produce high-quality diagnostic images for a busy radiology department.

The role includes weekend work (WOW) with premium pay and opportunities for cross-training across modalities, including CT. Licensing requirements include a State Radiography License and ARRT(CT) or NMTCB(CT) within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• State Radiography License and ARRT(CT) or NMTCB(CT) within 1 year of hire
• Temporary State Radiography License and ARRT-CT or NMTCB(CT) within 1 year of hire

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality diagnostic CT images using imaging equipment and computer systems
• Educate patients and respond to questions; ensure age-appropriate communication and safety protocols
• Supervise and train students as part of clinical training
• Maintain infection control and quality control standards while following radiation safety guidelines

This is a WOW (Work on Weekends) position. Schedules for WOW employees include every weekend (Nights - Friday & Saturday, Days - Saturday & Sunday). Employees in designated WOW positions earn premium pay in addition to their competitive hourly rates and shift differential

The CAT Scanner Technologist utilizes imaging, computer and other equipment as appropriate to produce and retain high quality diagnostic images which meet or exceed department, organizational and industry standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, as well as image quality. Applying professional knowledge, prepares patients for the procedure, educates and responds to questions or concerns. Ensures age appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education and principles of physical/functional growth and development. Demonstrates an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment and services as part of their training.
