Job summary

Norton Healthcare in Louisville, KY is seeking a CT Technologist to produce high-quality CT diagnostic images and educate patients through complex procedures. The role emphasizes patient safety, accurate positioning, and adherence to radiation safety standards within a collaborative radiology team.

As part of the department, you will assist with training students, ensuring professional quality care, and maintaining meticulous imaging records in line with industry and organizational guidelines.

Qualifications

• State radiography license and CT certification within 1 year of hire.
• Ability to oversee student training and clinical procedures.
• Knowledge of radiation safety and infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Produce and retain high quality diagnostic CT images using appropriate imaging equipment.
• Prepare patients, educate them, and respond to questions with an age-appropriate approach.
• Demonstrate safe imaging technique, positioning, and radiation safety protocols.
• Oversee and train students as part of the clinical training program.

The CAT Scanner Technologist utilizes imaging, computer and other equipment as appropriate to produce and retain high quality diagnostic images which meet or exceed department, organizational and industry standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, as well as image quality. Applying professional knowledge, prepares patients for the procedure, educates and responds to questions or concerns. Ensures age appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education and principles of physical/functional growth and development. Demonstrates an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment and services as part of their training.

Required

• State Radiography License AND must obtain ARRT(CT) or NMTCB(CT) within 1 year of hire
