Job summary

Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV is seeking a CT Scan (CT) Tech to join our imaging team. You will review orders, prepare and administer contrast within scope, monitor patients, and perform high-quality CT exams.

Qualifications

• Requires two year certificate or associate/baccalaureate degree in radiologic technology.
• Current Radiation Operator Certificate in West Virginia; ARRT registration.
• BLS certification and on-call availability required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding.
• Prepares and administers contrast media within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition and reports status changes.
• Prepares equipment and supplies; ensures safety standards.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and documents issues.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
• Analyzes results, resolves image quality issues, and repeats as needed.
• Enters and transmits scan results.

How you'll contribute

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educatepatientregarding procedures, equipment andexamto ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepareequipment and supplies.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

What we're looking for

• Education: Two (2) year certificate,associatedegree and/or Baccalaureate degree
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Licenses: CurrentRadiation Operator Certificate in the state of West Virginia. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology.
• On-Call Availability: Must accepton-callassignments for regularly scheduled shifts and be available to report tofacilitywithin 30 minutes of notification. This status will be determined by thetechnologiston duty.
• Required Skills:
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Mustbe able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
