Job summary

Lifepoint Health® is seeking a Cat Scan Technician at Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens, TN, to join our dynamic healthcare team. You will ensure patient well-being and provide exceptional imaging services, including educating patients and performing quality imaging procedures.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Radiation Operator in the state of practice.
• Registration in Radiology and Computed Tomography.
• BLS certification required.

As a Cat Scan Technician joining our team, you will play a vital role in making communities healthier.

How You’ll Contribute

• Review patient history and physician orders. Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepare equipment and supplies. Select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Position patients and perform imaging procedures. Analyze results and identify issues with the quality of imaging. Take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures. Enter, transmit, and report scan results.

Qualifications

Current Radiation Operator certificate in your state of practice; registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology and Computed Tomography; BLS required. Two‑year certificate, associate’s degree, or baccalaureate degree.
