Job summary

Ottumwa Regional Health Center is seeking a Cat Scan Technician to support imaging services on a PRN basis. The role involves reviewing orders and patient history, educating patients about procedures, and ensuring safety and quality in CT imaging.

Responsibilities include preparing contrast as needed, monitoring patients, operating CT equipment, and reporting results. ARRT CT registration and BLS are required, with state Radiation Operator certification.

Qualifications

  • Two-year certificate, Associate’s degree, or Baccalaureate degree.
  • Current Radiation Operator Certificate in state of practice; registered with ARRT in Radiology and Computed Tomography; BLS required.

  • Educates patients on procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered.
  • Monitors patient condition and responds to changes appropriately.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies; implements safety standards and performs quality control checks.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions.
  • Positions patients and performs imaging procedures.
  • Analyzes imaging results, identifies quality issues, and takes corrective action, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures if needed.
  • Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.

What We're Looking For
