Job summary

Starr Regional Medical Center in Tennessee is seeking a Cat Scan Technician for a full-time night shift. You will operate CT imaging equipment, review orders, and prepare contrast media while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

The role requires ARRT certification in Radiology and CT and a current Radiation Operator Certificate, with BLS. The position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus, comprehensive benefits, tuition assistance, and opportunities for professional growth.

• Registered with ARRT in Radiology and CT.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician orders; educates patient on procedures.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and medications; monitors patient status.
• Prepares equipment; selects exposure factors and imaging parameters; implements safety standards and QC procedures.
• Implements safety standards and performs QC; troubleshoots equipment malfunctions.
• Positions patient and performs imaging; analyzes results and reports scan findings.

How You'll Contribute

A Cat Scan Technician who excels in this role:

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

What We're Looking For

Current Radiation Operator Certificate in state of practice; registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology and Computed Tomography; BLS required.

Two-year certificate, associate's degree, or Baccalaureate degree.
