Job summary

Los Alamos Medical Center in Los Alamos, NM is seeking a PRN CT Technologist. You will review history and orders, educate patients, and perform imaging procedures with contrast when needed.

Responsibilities include safety, equipment QC, troubleshooting malfunctions, and timely reporting of scan results. Requires ARRT CT, NM license, and registry in Radiology/Nuclear Medicine as applicable.

Qualifications

• Current NM Radiologic Technologist license required.
• ARRT, JRCERT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB registry in Radiology, Radiation Therapy, MR, or Nuclear Medicine required.
• ARRT Registry in CT required within 1 year of hire/transfer.
• If not ARRT(CT) at hire, must work under supervision until ARRT(CT) obtained.

• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports changes as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Implements safety standards and performs quality control on equipment.
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with image quality.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning and repeating procedures.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

How You'll Contribute

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current NM Radiologic Technologist license and be a graduate of an ARRT, JRCERT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Radiation Therapy, MR, or Nuclear Medicine required with an associate's degree preferred. Additional requirements include:

• Certification/License:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) current upon hire.
  • ARRT, JRCERT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB registry in Radiology, Radiation Therapy, MR, or Nuclear Medicine Registry required.
  • ARRT Registry in Computed Tomography (CT) required (within 1 year hire/transfer).
  • If not ARRT(CT) upon hire, you must work under the supervision of an ARRT(CT) technologist until your ARRT(CT) is obtained.
